1. How to Enter: Open to entrants that are legal U.S. residents. To enter The "Wildsidhe Essay Contest 1" (the "Contest"), legibly print or type an original essay on 8 2 by 11 sheets of paper on the theme AWhat I Would Do If I Were On The Wildsidhe. Essays must be 250-1500 words. Include your first and last name, age, and home town (including state). The back of the entry must include your home address (street, city, state, country & zip code), home phone number and if under 18 years of age your parent/legal guardian's name and signature. Send your essay to: The Wildsidhe Essay Contest c/o Padwolf Publishing Inc., 457 Main Street, # 384, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Everyone who submits an essay will be entered into the Contest. Contest begins on September 1, 2002 and all entries must be postmarked no later than August 15, 2004 and received no later than September 20, 2006. All entries, including rights therein, become the property of Padwolf Publishing Inc. and will not be returned. Padwolf is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, mutilated, postage due, incomplete or illegible entries or mail. By submitting an entry, each person or their parent/legal guardian grants to Padwolf the right to use his or her name, likeness, hometown, biographical information, and entry in any media, including for purposes of advertising and promotion without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law.
2. Judging: Essays will be judged from all eligible entries received, Essays will be judged on both style and content. Judges will look for writing that is clear, creative, and best demonstrates the sense of ingenuity and the fantastic that is part of AThe Wildsidhe Chronicles@ series. Decisions of the judges concerning all matters related to this Contest are final. No information regarding entries or judging will be disclosed. Winners will be notified by mail no later than November 15, 2003.
3. Prizes: One winner will have a character in a future AThe Wildsidhe Chronicles@ book or project named after them. They will also receive 10 copies of the book this character appears in, as well as a galley of Books 1-6 of AThe Wildsidhe Chronicles@. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. All taxes and any other expenses on the receipt and use of prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. All prizes will be awarded in the name of the winner or the winner's parent or legal guardian.
4. General: Open to entrants that are legal U.S. residents, except employees and associates of Padwolf Publishing Inc., and their immediate family members living in the same household. Void where prohibited by law. No cash substitutions, transfer or assignment of prizes allowed, except by Padwolf who reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability. All prizes will be awarded in the name of the winner or if under 18 years of age, the winner's parent/legal guardian. By accepting prize, winner or winner's parent/legal guardian grants to Padwolf the right to use their/their child's name and likeness in advertising and promotion without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. The winner or minor winner=s parent/legal guardian will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release which must be returned within 15 days of notification attempt or prize may be awarded to an alternate. By entering, all entrants warrant and represent that their submissions are fully original works. By accepting prize, prize winners and parents/legal guardians release Padwolf Publishing Inc. and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising, production and promotion agencies, from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, costs or expenses arising out of participating in this Contest, or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy or copyright infringement. All entrants and their parents/legal guardians grant to Padwolf the right to copy, edit, publish, promote and use all entry materials, either alone or accompanied by other materials, in perpetuity, throughout the world, for any lawful purpose whatsoever, in any media now known or ever developed without further compensation. All entrants agree that United States law shall apply exclusively to the Contest and that any dispute with respect to the Contest shall be resolved in either the federal or state courts located in the State of New York.
